Alan Turner: Southeast Michigan gives rise to some amazing talent in the music industry, and Alan Turner is definitely no exception. Blasting onto the local country music scene in September 2007 as Cowboy Alan and The Steel Horse Band, Alan Turner jets off the stage to mingle with the crowd throughout his performance with his non-stop mix of traditional country with a rockin’ edge like no other. Playing well over 150 shows a year since his debut, his name is spreading like wildfire throughout the U.S and Canada. From local honky tonks to major concert and festival venues, this band screams entertainment at a level not seen since Garth Brooks.

Alan’s voice is rich baritone that pours “country” into every note he sings. His love for music was passed on from his father, Canadian singer/songwriter Stanley Turner (03/26/1924-11/23/1977), and he has been performing since childhood. After raising his family, he reintroduced himself to the local country music scene by winning a local radio station singing competition. This allowed him to open for national recording artist Keith Anderson, and after the publicity that the show generated, he was quickly approached about taking his talent to the next level. He hasn’t looked back.

Every great singer needs a great band and in the case of Alan Turner, The Steel Horse Band definitely fits the bill. Comprised of some of the best local talent this side of Nashville, the band consists of J.T. Monroe on lead guitar, “Buffalo” Bruce McQueary, base guitar, Billy Lee, keyboards, and drummer Dave Piotrowski, all lend their astonishing musical and vocal talents to the mix. Combined with Alan’s voice, they truly have made their mark as a band to be reckoned with. Now and then, Heather Gray, joins the boys on stage to add an angelic mix to many of the songs on the roster.

2009 was an astounding year for the band with a debut single, The Cowboy Code, gaining attention far and wide on local radio and across the country, as well as cross country and internationally on internet radio. “We received a lot of feedback and made a lot of friends with military personnel who heard it all over the world thanks to our friends at HooahRadio.com” Alan adds.

Along with their debut single, they connected with Robin Cursi, executive producer with Lili Claire Communications, leading to a partnership and management deal carrying them well into 2010 and onward. Lili Claire Communications is the entertainment division of the Lili Claire Foundation, which provides help to special needs children and their families in the USA and abroad. This union has sparked two projects, the first being the band’s debut music video release of their second single “Bull Ridin’ Babe” shot on location at one of Michigan’s premier country hotspots, Coyote Joe’s. The hard work and 30 hour shoot schedule over just two days, has created incredible exposure for the band. The video is now in rotation on CMT.com. The second project was writing and recording “Everyone’s A Miracle (Lili’s Song)” to tell the Lili Claire story, and has turned out to be one of Alan and the band’s best works to date. The making of that video was the major project of summer 2010, and its debut locally and nationally is just on the horizon, as is a huge three day country festival show in Vegas this coming October and the much anticipated release of his debut CD “Behind the Eight Ball”.

And to think this is only the beginning! Look out Nashville, this cowboy is here to stay!
