Motor City Brew Tours: Bike & Brew Tours - Traffic Jam & Snug - Volunteer Bike Shepherd Program - 2017 We are looking for friendly bike centric folks to help Motor City Brew Tours with our Bike Tour season in 2017. All bike shepherds are excepted to show up on time (9:45am) and help us with keeping the groups organized and safe at the back of the 15-20 person bike group. Being able to change out a flat and perform minor repairs is helpful. Bike Tours typically last no more than 3 hours. For this service, we offer you lunch, unlimited beer and a $25 Motor City Brew Tours Gift Certificate for EACH bike tour you help us with. PLEASE only sign up if you can be there on that date and time! 2017 Bike & Brew Tour - Available Bike Shepherd Dates: Brewery - April 29, June 24, July 22, Sept 17Prohibition - May 13, June 17, July 9, Aug 5Cork/Mexi-town - June 25, July 15, Aug 19, Sept 9New Route - Automotive - June 3, Sept 30New Route - Murals & Public Art - July 8, Aug 12Frequently Asked Questions: Where should I park? Use the parking lot across from Traffic Jam & Snug -  511 West Canfield Street, Detroit, MI 48201 (on Canfield between Cass and 2nd Ave). Traffic Jam & Snug offers us a gated parking lot that is safe & close! Tell them you are there for the Motor City Brew Tours - Bike Tour. Parking is also available on the street. Pay meters on Saturday. How far do we bike and is it hard? The bike tour routes are 8-15 miles, on flat paved road surfaces. We will ride on the road, bike lanes, sidewalks and bike paths. The distance varies depending on the tour you pick. We will have a tour guide to set the pace up front and a person in back to make sure we all stay together. We ride a relaxing pace to help you learn about the history in Detroit, soak in the scenery and enjoy time with friends! What steps are taken to ensure rider safety? We avoid automobile traffic when possible. Each tour begins with a safety and bike usage talk. Your tour guides are trained to perform basic bike care, but please bring bikes that are ready to ride. Mountain, comfort or road bikes are fine for this bike tour route. For your safety, helmets are strongly recommended for all of our tours. What should I bring with me on the bike tour? Bike in good working condition, helmet, water, bike lock, identification, cell phone, a little money for other purchases, tire pump and a spare bike tube. The tour guide will have a bike pump with him/her as well. Please wear seasonally appropriate clothing, sunblock, rain gear (if needed) and don’t forget your camera! We will have plenty of picture taking opportunities. How do I redeem a gift certificate? Redeem your gift certificates by emailing us - Info@MotorCityBrewTours.com. Tell us the tour date you want,  your contact cell# and the gift certificate #. We will email you back the ticket! If you owe a little more money less the gift certificate, we will email you a online invoice to pay the ticket price difference. Once paid, we will send you over a ticket confirmation from our ticketing provider, Eventbrite. Bike Shepherds receive the gift certificate at the end of the 2017 bike tour season (October). If you want to us the gift certificate for anything else prior, just let us know. Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? For more Info: info@MotorCityBrewTours.com or call us: 248-850-2563
