Husky Burnette (Dirty blue/Rock & roll)
Pancho Villa’s Skull (Mariachi punk)

Husky Burnette: The Blues are a religion and Brian “Husky” Burnette sho nuff preaches it. You can feel the testimony in his blend of Delta and Hill Country Blues with Rock n Roll. His music is gritty, soulful, southern, low-down and dirty.

Husky, who hails from Chattanooga, TN, has followed in the musical family footsteps of rockabilly kings Johnny and Dorsey Burnette. Husky has written and recorded his own music for years and toured with such greats as Roger Alan Wade, Hank Williams III and more. He has sat in with, recorded with and/or shared the stage with many others such as Leon Russell, T-Model Ford, Kenny Brown, Guy Clark, Emmylou Harris, Shooter Jennings, Scott H. Biram and J.J. Grey & Mofro.

Husky Burnette signed with Rusty Knuckles record label in 2013 and released his LP “Tales From East End Blvd.” the same year. The album featured guest appearances from Shooter Jennings and Grammy nominees Billy Don Burns and Aaron Rodgers, among others. Upon release in August 2013, “Tales From East End Blvd.” was well received and spent 23 weeks as a featured album on iTunes as well as New Releases Now and many more. A digital-only single of the song “Amazing Grace” followed in 2014 and in early 2016 we saw Husky’s follow-up album for Rusty Knuckles, “Ain’t Nothin’ But A Revival!”, featuring Andy Gibson (Hank Williams III), Col JD Wilkes (Legendary Shack Shakers) and more.

Pancho Villa’s Skull: What do you get when you cross traditional Mariachi music with Punk rock snarl and attitude?

The answer: Pancho Villa’s Skull. Pancho Villa’s Skull was started by Tino Ybarra in 2011. While growing up in Pontiac, Michigan, Tino developed a love from Mariachi music through his grandfather on his mother’s side who, sang and played trumpet. He also, spent time in south Texas with his paternal grandfather who took him across the border to Mexico from time to time so, he could know where he came from. As, he got older he started playing in punk and ska bands around Detroit yet, he wanted to feel more connected to his roots. Inspired by bands like Gogol Bordello and The Pogues, both of whom looked into their own pasts to create something new, he decided to create what he calls Mariachi punk and started Pancho Villa’s Skull. At the beginning of 2016 his brother Rolando Ybarra joined the band to play percussion and added to the sound heavily. Making the sound bigger but, maintaining a stripped down feel. 2016 is what they are calling their “Pata de Perro” year because, they have been all over the east coast, and the Midwest! So, ponganse trucha compas! They are probably hitting your town next!!

Husky Burnette: The Blues is a religion and Brian "Husky" Burnette sho nuff preaches it. You can feel the testimony as he blends Mississippi Delta guitar licks with Rock n Roll, Electric Blues and Attitude. His music is gritty, soulful, southern, deep-fried, low-down and dirty. Husky, following in the family footsteps of Rockabilly Kings Johnny Burnette and Billy Burnette, has written and toured with several national artists over the years. Two of which that stand out are lead guitar for legendary singer/songwriter Roger Alan Wade and the supporting act on tour for Hank Williams III. He has shared the stage with many others such as Guy Clark, Scott H. Biram, Emmylou Harris, Col J.D. from The Legendary Shack Shakers, Joe Buck and Randy Howard. In 2005, after leaving his road band, Husky Burnette set out to do his own thing, as a solo artist with a band behind him. He toured the United States and then released the EP 'Snake Oil Salvation' in 2007. Husky continues to tour nationally with a drummer backing him up to complete the two-man-band, playing up to 150 shows a year. In 2010 he will release a live album, 'Givin' It Hell...Live!', as well as a brand new full length entitled 'Done Got Bad and Bloody'. Keep an eye out folks, he's bringin' this brand of Dirty Hillbilly Blues Religion to the masses.
