Cranbrook Institute of Science Trip
Join MCC's Lifelong Learners and other natural history, humanities, anthropology, botany, astronomy and general science enthusiasts on a one-day trip to the Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., on Friday, June 15. Early online registration for Lifelong Learners begins March 15 at 8 a.m., and all others can begin registering on April 15 at 8 a.m. The registration deadline is Wednesday, June 13, at noon. Refunds will be honored until the registration deadline. You will receive a printable ticket with helpful trip information sent to the email you provide for registration. There is a limited number of tickets, and registration is first come, first served. Buses will depart the Greenville campus at 8 a.m., travel to the Sidney campus, and depart the Sidney campus at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided, but if you have any special dietary needs, you may want to bring or plan to purchase your own lunch. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Depending on the exhibits you may want to see, the trip will include a considerable amount of walking. Buses will return to the Sidney campus at 7:30 p.m., and the Greenville campus at 8 p.m. Attractions Participants have time to visit several attractions during the trip. Available attractions include the “Rome: Age of the Caesars” exhibition, and participants will have the opportunity to explore their preferred sites of interest, including the observatory, the planetarium (featuring “Sidney Skies”), and the Erb Family Science Garden. The tours also will cover a wide variety of educational disciplines as well as exciting and diverse ways to experience the information provided. Children ages 12 to 17 may attend with an adult.
