Come one, come all to create artful and fantastically foolish bumblebee luminaries! Make one of your own or work together as a family. Stop in at the Ann Arbor Art Center anytime between 10am-5pm. Instructors will be present at this fabulously fun workshop to guide you in the construction of your bee. “BEE” sure to join us later in the week as we swarm through the streets of downtown Ann Arbor with our bee luminaries during the FoolMoon procession and Festifools parade. Come to one or come to both!

All materials will be provided, with the exception of lights for the luminary. If you do not have your own lights at home to illuminate your bee, lights will be available at the workshop for $5. We accept cash or credit.

Background on “Bee Foolish”

Artist and luminary afficionado, Gretchen Adracie will be making one dozen, GIANT and exquisite, light-up queen bees for FoolMoon and Festifools. Adracie found inspiration in bees as a beautiful symbol of community and collaboration, as well as a valued creature that contributes greatly to the vitality and health of the environment that we all share. As no queen bee is complete without the support of her community, we hope to create a very large fleet of loyal bee friends to parade with them. Join us as we come together in shared joy and celebration to put the UNITY in commUNITY!
